Hatrack Heroes!
The Lost Children Of Dakar
Show Notes

Come with us as we begin our brand new podcast in the west of Africa, chatting with  Jayna Diallo, cabin crew in the Middle East, and ambassador in the same region for the 'Association Les Racines de l'Espoir' (The Roots of Hope), a charity helping many of the disowned children in Dakar, Senegal.
Jayna talks about the plight of the people, and how families from rural villages are somewhat forced to give their children away, for want of a better life. Instead, the children are forced to beg on the streets, in extremely dangerous conditions, trying to make money for their guardian.
What makes this story even more tough to handle, or even understand, is the fact that the Government seem to have a complete disregard for what is happening on their doorstep.
Find out exactly what the Association is doing to help these children, and what you can do to help.
Thank you to Jayna for allowing us to hear this story, and thank you to the various artists who have been included in the soundrack (see listing below).
