An Oasis Of Hope
The great Nobel Prize Laureate Kofi Annan once said “Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope", and this is a quote that our guest Mandy also believes in as she discusses the work she's done with the children of St. Nicholas School.
A small town on the coast of Ghana, and part of the bustling capital of Accra, Tema New Town is home to this school, and sadly to many underprivileged children.
The kind of life these children lead, is not something you'd ever wish for any child... but with the help of the the Tsakos Group, the school, it's teachers, and the many airline crew who regularly visit, these children can afford to feel positive about what the future might hold for them.
Crew like Mandy, who began the initiative of sponsoring the children, are extra special in the eyes of the children, but in turn (and probably more so), are extra special in the eyes of the crew.
This chat with Mandy is one that really shows how truly selfless Mandy is in helping others, and supporting others... it really is inspirational to be taking the initiative in giving children like the ones from St. Nicholas a hope for the future.
